I’m from a small family farm about 80 miles east of San Francisco in the San Joaquin Valley of California, just outside the city limits of the town of Escalon. In 2011 I started my undergrad at the California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo (Cal Poly SLO). I graduated with a double-major in history and philosophy in Spring of 2015. In Fall 2015 I began my MA in philosophy at San Francisco State University. During my time in San Francisco I taught critical thinking and ethics courses, focusing on formal logic and how to use philosophical reasoning to engage critically with media and science, as well as how to use philosophical reasoning to promote advocacy and justice. My MA thesis focused on how some values serve as desiderata in experimental practices that compare different kinds of models. After graduating with my MA in 2017, I moved to Toronto in late summer of 2018 to begin my PhD. No, I was not prepared for my first non-California winter, and yes, everyone had a good laugh about it. I recently completed my PhD in September of 2022. From Fall 2022 until Spring 2023, I resided in Pittsburgh as a visiting lecturer at Pitt HPS.

Being from a small farm, I’m deeply passionate about nature and the environment. I spend time outdoors whenever I can, and in my free time I enjoy cooking, road trips, talking about viticulture, and listening to Marty Robbins.
